My Panyard was proud to be an official partner of the DCSF's Tune in - Year of Music
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families said: “I want to create a generation of talented performers who can sing, dance, play instruments and fly the flag for Great Britain.”
With this plan, The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) launched a new year long national music initiative entitled Tune In – Year of Music on 10 September 2009.
The aims of Tune In:
- to provide access to quality music and culture opportunities for children and young people
- to celebrate the diverse opportunities available to children and young people across the country
- to give every child the chance to get more from music
By working with a variety of music and cultural organisations, including My Panyard, it is hoped that children and young people will become more interested and involved in cultural opportunities.
The DCSF has made a commitment to invest £330m from 2008 to 2011 to improve music opportunities for more children and young people.
